Position: NUCLEAR DETERRENCE SENIOR ADVISOR with Security Clearance
Duties
* You will direct, coordinate and supervise oversight of policy development, policy implementation, certification of assigned Navy CONUS NW incident response task forces and coordination of nuclear propulsion reactor accident response policy.
* You will be the POC/Coordinator for the annual Command Self-Assessment reviews and ensures all internal and external nuclear issues are tracked.
* You will review directives concerning nuclear weapons mission including ordnance handling, safety procedures, and Personnel Reliability Program.
* You will coordinate and articulate U.S. Fleet Forces Command Nuclear Deterrence Mission readiness, personnel, capability, and capacity war fighting requirements with Navy and Joint Commanders
* You will serve as U.S. Fleet Forces Command lead on Nuclear Weapons Deterrent Mission Oversight and Policy.
* You will and research and coordinate with appropriate contacts and recommend actions for achieving and maintaining nuclear weapons reliability for U.S. Fleet Forces Command fielded nuclear weapons.
* You will lead a wide variety of operational, technical, managerial, and organizational issues affecting all aspects of NW and nuclear propulsion reactor incident and accident response readiness in support of the Maritime Operations Center (MOC).
* You will establish and maintain procedures for nuclear weapons/reactor incident responses programs and participate in annual exercises. Requirements Conditions of employment

* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
* This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
* Experience providing executive-level advice and recommendations to flag officers and senior civilian leaders on nuclear weapons (NW) policy, surety, and the strategic deterrence mission.
* Experience directing the oversight, assessment, and implementation of unit and command readiness and policy in coordination with joint and interagency partners, such as USSTRATCOM, the Joint Staff, and OPNAV.
* Experience leading the development and implementation of nuclear weapon surety programs, including establishing procedures for NW and/or nuclear propulsion reactor incident response, and coordinating safety standards across Fleet and Type Commands.
* Experience representing a major command in national-level forums, such as the Navy Nuclear Weapons Oversight Council, to influence policy, resolve critical issues, and ensure alignment with DoW and Navy strategic guidance.
* Experience integrating fleet requirements and capabilities into the Navy's Program Objective Memorandum (POM) cycle to secure fiscal resources in support of strategic deterrence and war fighting readiness.
* Experience providing leadership, supervision, and professional development to a team of senior military officers and civilian personnel responsible for complex, high-consequence national security programs.
