Overview
Old Dominion University (ODU) seeks candidates for a tenure track faculty position in the School of Cybersecurity. This position is part of a cluster hiring initiative for Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence (AI). We seek an experienced, accomplished, and visionary candidate at the rank of Associate or Full Professor
. This position will build, direct, and run multidisciplinary research in collaboration with other members of the cluster and existing ODU faculty. Priority will be given to faculty whose research will complement ODU’s areas of strategic emphasis, including security, privacy, and safety implications of AI systems. The cluster hire involves interdisciplinary collaboration among the School of Cybersecurity, the Department of Computer Science, and the Department of Sociology & Criminal Justice, and builds on existing interdisciplinary strengths at ODU.
Direct, build, and lead multidisciplinary research in collaboration with cluster members and existing ODU faculty. Contribute to the development of the Trustworthy AI cluster and advance ODU’s strategic emphasis on security, privacy, and safety implications of AI systems.

ODU is also home to the Coastal Virginia Center for Cybersecurity Innovation (COVA CCI), an engine for research, innovation, and commercialization of next generation cybersecurity technologies, which is part of the Commonwealth Cyber Initiative and funded by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
The School of Cybersecurity at ODU was established in 2020 and houses one of the largest cybersecurity programs in the nation with a total of about 1700 students.
