Principal Technician – Digital Infrastructure

We are looking for an experienced Principal Technician – Digital Infrastructure to support the design, integration, and operation of secure enterprise network environments. This role focuses on WAN/LAN technologies, infrastructure operations, and service reliability across complex IT systems.
Key Responsibilities1) Systems Design & Integration
- Design and build infrastructure components using standard patterns and best practices
- Support system integration, testing, and configuration management
- Define and execute integration builds and test plans
- Recommend improvements to tools, processes, and architectures
- Install, configure, and maintain network & infrastructure services
- Monitor performance, capacity, and security events
- Perform backup/restore and system maintenance activities
- Automate routine administration tasks using standard tools and scripting
- Deliver On-the-Job Training (OJT) to technical staff
- Supervise secure equipment installation and maintenance
- Ensure compliance with cryptographic and security standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional service operations teams
- Higher vocational training with 3+ years of relevant experience OR Secondary education with 5+ years of post-related experience
- 3+ years hands-on experience with:
- WAN/LAN, routers, switches, firewalls, monitoring & security systems
- Network troubleshooting and infrastructure maintenance
- Experience with enterprise networking environments and multivendor setups
- Network configuration, testing, and support experience
- MPLS, SDN, IPv6, Datacenter & Virtual Switching
- ITIL / ITU-T based service management
- Experience leading technical teams
- Background in secure enterprise or government environments
- ITIL Foundation
- Associate-level Networking Qualification
