If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team as Information Technology (IT) Specialist in the United States Attorney's Office (USAO) as one of the Eastern District's Litigation Support Specialists with responsibility for providing technical and analytical assistance involving Litigation Support. Typical work assignments will include:
  • Serving as a district Litigation Support Specialist responsible for providing technical and analytical assistance involving Litigation Support (LS) in Information Technology (IT) specialty areas which support the information management needs of the United States Attorney's Office (USAO). The USAO environment includes personal computers, wide and local area networks, operating systems, case management systems and litigation support operations.
  • Modifying standard systems to resolve hardware and software problems, and to adapt precedents or make significant departures from standardized approaches to meet requirements.
  • Coordinating Litigation Support services, including trial preparation and presentation, in response to customer needs to support attorneys in managing and presenting complex case data.
  • Performing tasks associated with the organization, tracking and analyzing items of evidence, data elements, involving novel computer or digital imaging applications.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of standards and procedures for Litigation Support applications and services to ensure consistency, efficiency, and compliance across Litigation Support operations.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL APPLICANTS
:

For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:

1. Attention to Detail - Performs testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation, maintenance of resources used for the transmission of information in data, voice and/or video format. Ensures systems availability, functionality, integrity, and efficiency.

2. Customer Service - Provides customer support services including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, customer assistance, and training in response to user requirements.

3. Oral Communication - Coordinates support services in response to customer needs. Develops standards and procures for applications and coordinates efforts with team members.

4. Problem Solving - Ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data through the planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of information systems security programs, policies, procedures, and tools.

In additional to the basic requirements above, applicants must meet at least ONE of the following conditions,
as defined below

Specialized Experience, Education, OR a combination of Education and Specialized Experience.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-09, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 in the Federal service.
