Join our team as a Dev Ops Engineer supporting mission-critical naval programs designed to provide comprehensive information resource management across afloat and shore platforms. Our mission is to deliver responsive tactical support through advanced Automatic Data Processing (ADP) solutions, facilitating the management of material, maintenance, and personnel information essential to Fleet operations.
As part of our migration you will play a pivotal role in managing development tools, automating processes, and ensuring rigorous system security compliance. Your expertise will strengthen the infrastructure supporting a suite of in-service enterprise applications critical to the Navy’s operational readiness.
Responsibilities Dev Ops Infrastructure Management- Administer and optimize Dev Ops tools including Jenkins, JIRA, Nexus Repository Manager, and Subversion to support CI/CD pipelines.
- Lead the migration to the Orion framework, implementing automation at every development phase to enhance security and software delivery.
- Configure and maintain containerized environments to support development and testing activities.
- Administer Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL6, RHEL8, RHEL9) environments.
- Implement security controls in accordance with DoD cybersecurity requirements.
- Manage vulnerability scanning using ACAS and upload results to VRAM.
- Apply IAVM updates and maintain system security accreditation through the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF).
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python, Bash, Power Shell, and Ansible.
- Create solutions for automated testing and security validation throughout the SDLC.
- Manage virtual machine environments using VMware, Hyper‑V, and vSphere/vCenter.
- Develop Technical Documentation, including System Administration Guides, white papers, and SOPs.
- Work closely with development, testing, and security teams to integrate Dev Sec Ops practices.
- Support trouble resolution, system recovery, and interface management with external applications.
- US Citizenship required.
- Must possess an active Secret clearance (ability to obtain a T5 investigation).
- DoD 8570 IAT Level 2+ certification (e.g., Security+, Network+, CISSP).
- Must hold at least one professional/vendor certification (e.g., PSEM/CSDP, Red Hat RHCA/RHCP, VMWare VCP, AWS Solutions Architect – Pro, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
100% on site at Norfolk Naval Base.
Education And Experience- Education:
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering or Mathematics (with a CS concentration). - Experience Tier: 10 years of experience (with Masters) or 14 years (with Bachelor's) in software design, development, and testing.
- Domain Expertise:
At least 5 years of technical experience supporting DoD Business IT (supply, logistics, maintenance, or personnel systems) for aviation, afloat, or shore activities.
- Proficiency in RHEL (6, 8,
9), Ansible, and scripting (Python/Bash). - Strong knowledge of DISA STIGs and information security protocols.
- Experience with Agile methodologies, CI/CD, and automated testing.
- Understanding of database administration (specifically Sybase) and PKI/certificate management.
- Familiarity with software testing methodologies including SIT and SQT.
