Opportunity
We're seeking an experienced Cloud Systems Engineer to join our NTCSS team in Norfolk, VA.
ResponsibilitiesKey role in managing enterprise VMware vSphere environments and Linux-based PaaS infrastructure supporting fleet operations globally. Duties include installing IAVAs across Government Cloud and on‑premises datacenters, performing monthly ACAS security scans, managing certificate life cycles, deploying Data Alignment Packages (DAPs), troubleshooting complex issues affecting ships and shore installations, automating system administration tasks, ensuring HBSS/STIG compliance, responding to datacenter outages, and collaborating with Tier 2/3 teams to keep 124+ NTCSS systems running 24/7.
The position involves sophisticated problems spanning virtualization, security compliance, database management, and cloud infrastructure.
- U.S. Citizenship
- Active Secret clearance (ability to obtain T5)
- DoD 8570 IAT Level 2+ certification (Security+, Network+, CISSP)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or Information Technology
- 5+ years of technical problem‑solving experience
- 8+ years IT systems administration experience
- Experience with DoD Business IT systems
- Knowledge of ITSM and Navy problem tracking systems
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot multiple OSs such as Linux and Windows in complex network and system environments
- Ability to install system packages and IAVAs using utilities such as RPM, Install Shield, or MSI
- AWS or Government Cloud experience
- Familiarity with Navy network environments (NMCI, NGEN, ONE‑Net, Flank speed Edge, etc.)
- Experience with storage array management and NAS server administration
- Hands‑on experience with Veeam Backup & Replication for enterprise backup solutions
- Intimate familiarity with Linux and Windows server administration tasks
- Expert‑level Linux/Windows server administration
- Advanced knowledge of VMware, scripting (Bash, Power Shell, Python), and networking fundamentals
- Demonstrated experience with Citrix, Thin App, VDI, and Sybase databases
- NTCSS system experience
- Experience in VMware vSphere/vCenter/ESXi in large‑scale environments
- CompTIA Cloud+, Server+, or advanced certifications
- Hands‑on experience with ACAS, HBSS, STIG implementation
A competitive compensation package, healthcare, wellness, financial, retirement, family support, continuing education, and time off benefits are included. Salary range: $75,200 – $158,100.
