Business Information Consultant

Location:

5800 Northampton Blvd., Norfolk, VA 23502. This hybrid role requires in‑office presence 1‑2 days per week, with the remaining time worked remotely.

Work Hours:

Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm.

• Develop and maintain database objects (stored procedures, functions, views, tables) for operational and financial reporting.
• Design, build, and deploy ETL packages, automating manual reporting processes.
• Analyze multiple data sources to identify and implement end‑to‑end reporting solutions.
• Ensure the integrity of reporting databases using industry‑standard development practices.
• Participate in peer reviews for code deployments, quality assurance, and user acceptance testing.
• Create financial and operational KPI dashboards and visualizations using Tableau.
• Mentor and train junior associates on databases and applications that support business needs.
• Act as subject matter expert on data warehouse architecture and produce mapping documents for developers.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Informatics, Data Science, or a related field.
• Five (5) years of experience in a related occupation.
• Five (5) years of experience with SQL Server Database programming (TSQL).
• Three (3) years of experience with reporting tools, including SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Tableau, and Power BI.
• Two (2) years of experience with ETL tools, including SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and Informatica.
• Two (2) years of experience with job schedulers such as Tidal, Control‑M, and SQL Agent.
• Two (2) years of experience with source control tools including Subversion, Bitbucket, and Team Foundation Server (TFS).
• Four (4) years of experience with SDLC deployments using Agile methodologies (Scrum, Dev Ops, Kanban).
• Two (2) years of experience with workflow automation platforms, including JIRA and Service Now.

• Competitive salary range: $149,926 - $150,926 (subject to location, experience, education, and skill level).
