Job Summary

Position: Engineer Systems 2

Location: Navy Warfare Development Center, Norfolk Naval Station; supports MOC‑EST and NSWC‑Corona.

Employment type: Full Time, Exempt. 11‑25% travel. Mid level experience.

Salary range: $72,254.00 – $90,001.60

Security clearance: Secret. Candidate must have an Active Secret Clearance.

• Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
• Analyse all levels of total system product: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
• Ensure logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total system solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost constraints.
• Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
• Operate and maintain all NSWC C4I systems and perform required operations.
• Interface with outside agencies to provide C4I system connectivity between major commands and assist with testing and integration of new C4I technologies.
• Provide knowledge and expertise in operating Global Command and Control System‑Joint (GCCS‑J).
• Provide onsite and remote troubleshooting support for C4I systems across NCTE Enterprise.
• Prepare reports and briefs as required.

• 2 years relevant experience with Bachelor’s in related field; 0 years experience with Master’s in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot at the system level to detect and resolve problems; required interaction with Military, Government and Contractor Leadership.
• Flexibility to work non‑standard work hours and work weeks of more than 40 hours.
• Strong background in Common Tactical Picture Management (CTPM), GCCS‑M/J.
• COMPTIA Security+ certification.
• Basic understanding of VSphere and other Virtual Machine systems.
• Ability to address technical issues and engage engineers from the appropriate domains to resolve them.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Candidate must be a U.S.
• Active Secret Clearance.

• Graduate of USN or Joint DoD GCCS school.
• Experience working with GCCS Family of Systems.
• Experience with Operational Specification for Over the Horizon Gold (OS‑OTG).
• Understanding of OPTASK COP/CTPM.
• Experience with GCCS communication interfaces.
• Understanding of GCCS topology and C4I architectures.
• Familiarity with Joint Semi‑Automated Forces/Joint Simulated Bus (JSAF/JBUS).
• DIS experience with Model and Simulation Systems to include Joint Live Virtual Constructive (JLVC) and JSAF.
• Experience working with Navy training systems and command structure.
• Experience working with Joint Staff or headquarters.

Office, industrial, or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances. Lifting and moving materials may be required.
