Job Description
Provides technical leadership to operations staff, working as senior operations tech, in addition to providing equipment operation and customer services. Participates in projects and new service implementation, recommends new processes or procedures for operations staff, creates instruction, training and documentation for operations area

Considerable experience working in data centers with an emphasis on Network and Systems Operations Center's, considerable knowledge and experience of system and network infruastructures such as LAN/WAN network technologies, server virtualization, enterprise storage area networks and backups enterprise perforamnce and fault monitoring tools. Basic knowledg of high speed printing systems and optical scan test grading procedures. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing in order to explain computer related situations, resolutions, and issues to staff and customers.
Ability to interact effectively with IT customers and staff.

Some experience in a dynamic, fast-paced hardware, software, customer service oriented and functional technology environment.
Additional Considerations (supplemental knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification)
Previous work experience and training with computing environment currently utilized by the University is preferred. Preferred individual should have previous experience in the use of formal network/software monitoring tools with previous experience in a similar hardware, software and functional environment. Preferred experience would include use of optical scanning equipment, control of Enterprise Backup systems, and High Speed Laser Printing Systems. Previous technical training in applicable computer operations, network monitoring, data networking, equivalent of A+ or Net+ certification is also preferred.
Bachelor's degree or Degree in IT related field or similar work experience.
Conditions of Employment
This is an on-campus, essential personnel position with 40 hour work weeks on a flexible schedule to accommodate adequate office coverage. Hours worked may include weekends and holidays as required by needs.
This position is designated as sensitive. A fingerprint-based criminal history check will be required of the final candidate.
Annual Salary/Hourly Rate
