Property Claims Resolution Specialist - Norfolk, VA
Overview
The Property Claims Resolution Specialist is responsible for investigating, evaluating, and resolving property damage claims related to tree trimming operations near power lines. This role ensures timely and fair settlement of claims, coordinates with customers, field crews, and insurance providers, and maintains compliance with company policies and industry regulations. Experience is required to be considered for this role. Salary range is between $60,000 - $70,000.
Ideal candidates will have experience in customer relations, project management, accident response management, claims intakes and workers comp adjustments, and employee relations. This role is in-office in Norfolk, VA.
- Review and investigate property damage claims related to tree trimming near power lines.
- Gather evidence, photos, and statements from field crews and customers.
- Determine liability and assess damage costs accurately.
- Negotiate and settle claims in a timely and fair manner.
- Serve as the primary contact for property owners regarding claims.
- Provide clear explanations of the process and resolution steps.
- Work closely with operations, safety, and legal teams to verify details and prevent future incidents.
- Ensure field crews provide accurate documentation of work performed.
- Maintain detailed records of all claims and settlements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, insurance requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Track claim trends and prepare reports for management.
- Navigates policy language, deductibles, coverage limits, and subrogation opportunities.
- Knows applicable state property damage laws, utility regulations, and documentation requirements.
- Maintains complete, timely, and auditable claim files.
- Handles multiple claims, deadlines, and site visits efficiently.
- Plans and conducts thorough investigations; collects statements, photos, and work logs from crews and customers.
- Ability to communicate effectively, collaboratively, and problem-solve effectively with employees across various levels of the organization.
- Ability to foster a culture of collaboration.
- Ability to prioritize well and communicate in both written and verbal forms.
- Ability to coordinate risk management/safety efforts throughout various departments.
Position requires employee to be able to pass a background check and drug screen as required for this job.
