A well-established Mid-Atlantic insurance defense firm is seeking an Insurance Defense Litigation Attorney to join its Norfolk office.
This role offers hands-on exposure across a insurance defense litigation docket
, meaningful courtroom experience, and direct collaboration with experienced trial attorneys.
We are moving efficiently and can take someone from first conversation to decision within approximately two weeks.
Responsibilities- Manage 30–40 active litigation files, including discovery, depositions, motions, and client reporting
- Handle a docket of personal injury, premises liability, products liability, general liability, auto liability and civil claims
- Appear in Virginia State and Federal Court
- Work in a team structure with multiple attorneys and support staff
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and claims professionals
- Draft pleadings, discovery, and legal memoranda
- Contribute to trial prep and strategy
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- 2–5 years of litigation experience (open to more senior candidates)
- Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Strong motion practice and deposition experience
- Courtroom confidence and trial interest preferred
- Base salary range: $95,000 – $135,000 plus performance-based bonuses.
- Annual incentives available above 1,850 billable hours.
