EquipmentCoordinator (Empty Vessel)
An Equipment Coordinator (Empty Vessel) is responsible for managing the acquisition, maintenance and distribution of empty vessels within the organization. They ensure equipment is properly functioning, available when needed and maintained to safety standards. They collaborate across departments to identify equipment needs, source suppliers, negotiate contracts, manage inventory and provide training on equipment usage.
Functions & Duties- Maintain inventory levels in depots and terminals to meet export demands.
- Confirm and release equipment at depots and terminals to allow customer pickup and return for export bookings.
- Reduce empty idle time by coordinating with depots, terminals, port operations and M&R to keep inventory fluid and minimise terminal storage.
- Approve payment to trucking community by processing email requests and creating work orders for container drays and chassis splits.
- Maximise off‑hire and on‑hire programmes by communicating with leasing companies and HO Logistics to return or pick up equipment from depots and terminals, rebill misuse of empty units returning to incorrect locations and negotiate sub‑leasing of units with other shipping lines.
- Provide immediate problem resolution for internal and external customers by identifying issues and strategising solutions to ensure excellent service.
- Propose counts for vessel load‑back, targeting idles, projected volumes and damaged units and assist with preparation and planning.
- MISCELLANEOUS RELATED DUTIES OR PROJECTS AS ASSIGNED.
- Proficient computer skills, including all Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Knowledge of the shipping industry.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access.

At CMA CGM, we are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The expected salary range for this position is $62,000 per year. The actual salary offered will be based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience and location.
In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for performance‑based bonuses and comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, tuition repayment and paid time off, as well as professional development opportunities.
