Ship Repair Superintendent (Relocation) Job Description

The Ship Repair Superintendent is responsible for the successful execution of repair contracts, ensuring that all repair projects and programs are completed safely, effectively, on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality.

• Direct all Repair Department production craft activities.
• Coordinate and share resources with the New Construction Department.
• Manage contract activities with customers, including change order development and approval.
• Oversee all assigned project personnel, budgets, schedules, purchasing, vendor tracking, labor hour forecasting, and invoicing.
• Monitor and oversee progress to ensure compliance with specifications and client requirements.
• Ensure the safe and quality completion of welding, machinery installation, electrical, auxiliary systems, outfitting, commissioning, sea trials, and vessel delivery.
• Travel or supervise work aboard tugs or other vessels as required.
• Maintain working knowledge of ABS and USCG Rules and Regulations and collaborate with relevant classification societies.

• Supervision experience in a shipyard or maritime environment.
• Ability to work outdoors.
• Knowledge of ABS and USCG and Regulations.

• Experience in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Work at a full-service shipyard located on the Cuyahoga River in Cleveland, Ohio, featuring a state-of-the-art facility with a 900-ton mobile Travelift and approximately 2,000 linear feet of waterfront. The facility supports new vessel and barge construction, fabrication, maintenance, and repairs.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Norfolk, VA.

The pay range for this position is $ - $/hr.
