NSUFA304 Coordinator Fraternity & Sorority Life
- Position will coordinate membership intake process and activities for fraternities, sororities and student organization son campus and work with the Office of Student Activities and Leadership to plan and implement programming.
- The Coordinator for Fraternity and Sorority Life and Student Organizations will handle daily supervision of all administrative and operational components of Greek Life and student organizations to ensure a robust student experience.
- Possess excellent interpersonal, written and oral communications skills; strong leadership, creative, and problem-solving skills; excellent organizational skills; and mustbe able to prioritize workload and be able to handle multiple projects with multiple deadlines in a professional, efficient and effective manner.
- Must be familiar with student development and leadership development theoretical frameworks.
- The coordinator will seek advice and guidance from the Associate Director of Student Activities and Leadership for issues that may negatively impact the student experience, the unit,division or the University or have the potential to escape to the Director of Student Activities & Leadership, Dean of Students,Vice President for Student Affairs level or above.
- Examples-Notifying the Associate Director of Student Activities and Leadership on a report of hazing within an organization.
- Seeking guidance and advice from my supervisor on process tofollow for alleged hazing; response to communication regarding complaints from the Director of Student Activities &Leadership, Dean of Students, Office of the Vice President,President’s Office, or University Attorney’s Office; issues that involve a directive provided by my supervisor that warrants the supervisor’s input; issues brought to my attention that may resultin negative publicity, negatively impact the community’s perception of NSU, and issues that may cause major financial ramifications.
- Examples-Decision-making without prior supervisory approval:
Resolution of low-and-mid-level complaints that do not have the potential to negatively impact the University; student organizational events that fall within the guidelines established by the Office of Student Activities and Leadership.
Salary Range: $55,000 - $60,000
Education, Experience, Licensure, or Certification required forentry into position: Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, business management, or related field.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree required. Strong computer skills using Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Excel, Design Software, social media and E-mail. Previous experience working with fraternity and sorority life or experience supervising and/or advising college students is required. Must be able to work evenings and weekends.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in a relevant discipline strongly preferred. An NPHC-Greek affiliation is preferred
