We’re hiring a C7-Certified Industrial Blaster to perform abrasive blasting and surface preparation on metal components in compliance with NAVSEA, MIL-SPEC, and shipyard coating standards. You’ll prepare parts for powder coating, painting, and other finishing processes—working with precision to ensure proper adhesion, surface profile, and finish readiness.

This role is ideal for detail-oriented, safety-focused professionals who take pride in delivering surfaces that meet or exceed customer specifications for mission-critical applications.

  • Perform C7-compliant abrasive blasting on a variety of metal components, ensuring required surface profile, cleanliness, and finish preparation
  • Prepare surfaces for industrial and defense coatings, including cleaning, masking, and applying protective coverings as required
  • Operate and maintain blasting equipment, adjusting air pressure, abrasive flow, and nozzle techniques for optimal results
  • Inspect completed surfaces for compliance with NAVSEA, MIL-SPEC, and customer-specific requirements
  • Work with carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and specialty metals in defense, maritime, and industrial applications
  • Follow all safety protocols, including PPE usage, confined space entry, and hazardous material handling
  • Maintain blasting area, tools, and equipment in clean, safe, and operational condition
  • Collaborate with coating, finishing, and fabrication teams to meet production schedules and quality standards
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in blasting efficiency, quality, and safety practices
✅ Required Skills & Experience
  • 3+ years of blasting and surface preparation experience in a manufacturing, shipyard, or industrial setting (0–2 years acceptable with certification)
  • Strong knowledge of surface preparation standards (SSPC, NACE, NAVSEA, MIL-SPEC)
  • Ability to work with multiple metal types and understand surface preparation requirements for each
  • Familiarity with industrial coating systems and application requirements
  • Basic mechanical skills for blasting equipment setup, operation, and maintenance
  • Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand for long periods, and work in protective gear for extended shifts
  • Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and adherence to safety procedures
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
