Harris is seeking a highly skilled Circuit Breaker Technician to join the Breaker Depot team in Norfolk, VA. The manufacturing technician will be responsible for conducting evaluations, diagnostics, integration and final acceptance testing of surface ship and sub-surface vessel electronic equipment using established procedures in support of the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program.
- Troubleshoots problems to component level utilizing general testing equipment, which includes but is not limited to, oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, AC/DC ammeters, HI Pot testers, LCR meters, Automated Test Equipment, and custom-made test fixtures and test consoles.
- Properly documents all test findings as required and directed by departmental procedures.
- Repair and overhaul circuit breakers, sub-assemblies, and related electrical equipment.
- Perform evaluations,maintenance, and repairson circuit breakers to ensureoptimalperformance.
- Replace or repair faulty components, such as contacts, coils, and insulation.
- Conduct diagnostic tests using specialized equipment toidentifyissues with circuit breakers and electrical systems including insulation resistance testing, contact resistance testing, and other relevant tests to verify the integrity of circuit breakers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical problems,andnon-conformances and maintainaccuraterecords ofe uvaluationand repair activities, including test results and inspections.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Assist in the development and implementation of procedures, applicable work instructions, and provide technical support and guidance to other team members and departments.
- Handle and complete multiple tasks within defined time limitations, and perform other duties as assigned by Management.
- Able to obtain and maintain US Security Clearance.
- Requires fully proficient job knowledge/skills typically obtained by a combination of
Education and Experience .
Requires ahighschool diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in electrical systems preferred. - Minimum of5years of experience as a circuit breaker technician or in a related field.
- Experience with low, medium, and high voltage circuit breakers.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Etc.).
