The Tape Edge Machine Operator is responsible for operating specialized sewing equipment to secure and finish mattress covers. This role involves feeding materials into the tape edge machine, ensuring proper fabric tape is used, maintaining quality standards, and performing basic machine adjustments and maintenance. The operator works in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, handling and moving mattresses safely while ensuring each finished product meets company quality specifications.
- Operate tape edge sewing machine to secure and finish mattress covers
- Ensure correct fabric tape is used according to specifications
- Feed materials into machine and re-thread as needed
- Inspect and correct taping defects to maintain quality standards
- Move finished mattresses to conveyor system
- Perform basic machine adjustments and routine maintenance
- Maintain a clean, safe work area
- Assist team members as needed
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Good eye/hand coordination
- With assistance must be able to lift, push, or carry mattress weigh of up to 190 lbs.
- Ability to interpret and support standards, policies and procedures established by Paramount and Federal/State/Local agencies
