We have a wonderful opportunity for a Scheduler in Norfolk, VA with one of our Clients in the Ship Repair Industry.
Qualifications- Must have experience with MS Projects
- 5+ years’ experience planning and scheduling fabrication projects using industry standards
- Strong skills with planning programs, including MS Project and Primavera P6
- Proven ability to identify and mitigate scheduling issues for simple and complex fabrication projects
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to tactfully deal with customers, coworkers & vendors as necessary.
- Able to self-prioritize and self-start projects and task work
- Ability to effectively multi-task similar activities in a fast paced, time sensitive environment
- Must be able to read blueprints or drawings.
- Must be a steady, reliable worker
- Support project management teams and Planning Department by gathering, analyzing, preparing and submitting data necessary to develop and maintain project management tools
- Work with Superintendents/Project Managers to create job schedules and update weekly with progress
- Manage and maintain all phases of the production schedule; develop, recommend, review, implement, and maintain the tools and techniques necessary to analyze the impact of proposed schedule changes
- Determine status of assigned projects / update and maintain project information data such as progress, manpower budget and project performance
- Resource load production schedules based on bids and build plans
- Create a master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet completion dates according to production forecasts or customer work specifications and drawing orders
- Create and maintain schedules for steel processing site(s) and equipment
- Create and maintain facility schedule to include footprint updates and progressing
- Participate in craft planning and schedule reviews
- Analyze production specifications and capacity data to determine manpower resource requirements
- Develops standard and custom graphs and charts for project managers
- Provide weekly schedule status reports on all projects to the Production Manager / Director.
- When necessary, create bid schedules for estimators
- Must have regular, reliable attendance
- Work independently to complete responsibilities
- Provide factual and timely information on all aspects and status of assigned jobs.
- Perform other duties and special projects as designed.
- First shift starts at 6AM and may work 8, 10 or 12 hour shifts determined by the project.
- $30 - $32/Hour based on experience
