Analyze jobs from start to finish to ensure proper and safe work methods;
Read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and tolerances;
Assemble, repair, and fabricate metal parts using mechanical equipment (hand tools, calipers, micrometers, lathes, boring mills, planers, shapers, slotters, milling machines);
Install ship machinery including propelling machinery, auxiliary motors, pumps, ventilating equipment, and steering gears;
Test and inspect installed machinery and equipment during dock and sea trials
