Tasks include:

• Rip out, repair, target, layout, fabricate, install, and test marine piping systems aboard ships at various repair and modernization stages.
• Repair and replace ships' piping systems (auxiliary salt water, potable water, hydraulic, compressed air, fuel oil, lube oil, etc.) utilizing work item specifications, NAVSEA/Military standards, and marine blueprints.
• Fabrication using shop equipment such as table saws, pipe threading machines, bending machines (powered and hand‑operated), drill presses, and brazing equipment.
• Perform strain‑free of pumps and miscellaneous ship equipment, blanking, pressure testing of tanks (structural boundary testing), and unblinking.
• Install and repair foundations for operating machinery and the principal structures/components of the ship’s armament.
• Assist in testing shipboard machinery pier side or on sea trials to prove satisfactory operation and acceptance.
• Read, understand, and execute all work per technical work documents, blueprints, specifications, and written or oral instructions.

• Working knowledge of marine vessel piping systems.
• Thorough knowledge of equipment, work processes, and techniques used in measuring, fitting, and welding pipe.
• Ability to read and interpret pipe drawings, and calculate pipe requirements using standard pipe formulas.
• Proficiency in targeting pipe spools.
• Capability to read, comprehend and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals and work specifications.
• Must meet certification requirements for manual torch brazing.
• Knowledge of and utilization of appropriate tools for the job assignment.
• Ability to estimate material needs for the next day's work.
• Strong written and spoken English skills.
• Reliable with a strong work ethic.
• Basic hand tools with bag or tote.
• Will wear applicable PPE (hard hat, safety goggles, gloves, steel‑toe shoes, ear protection).

• High School Diploma or GED (minimum).
• Trade school, apprenticeship, or higher education preferred.
• Minimum 1 year relevant experience; 5+ years preferred.
• Basic computer skills preferred.

• Reliable transportation.
• Eligibility to obtain DBIDs.
• Pass a drug screening.
