Overview

Aircraft Maintenance Technician, V-22 – Naval Station Norfolk, VA. On-site position with the flexibility to travel to domestic and international locations to support maintenance operations, sometimes with minimal notice. Potential periodic development in support of the U.S. Navy’s Carrier Onboard Delivery (COD) mission, with work occurring both at sea and/or ashore. Extended travel may be required based on business needs.

• Diagnose issues with aircraft systems, install aeronautical components, inspect and evaluate damage, manage logistics, and perform functional testing and repairs on the CMV-22 Osprey tiltrotor aircraft.
• Analyze assigned tasks, identify logistics requirements for repairs, and schedule attainable timelines for completion.
• Ensure work complies with applicable safety standards, proper use of PPE, and work efficiently on assigned projects.
• Perform maintenance tasks to support Organizational-Level and Intermediate-Level maintenance with a focus on CMV deployments.
• Provide Organizational and Intermediate level maintenance services at customer locations, and conduct heavy maintenance on aircraft structures, systems, and sub-systems.
• Evaluate damage and perform repairs on electrical, mechanical, structural, and composite components.
• Ensure work meets Bell’s safety and quality expectations and is in accordance with approved technical publications.
• Maintain positive rapport with military/government customers and collaborate with military maintainers when required.
• Provide weekly status reports of current projects.
• Follow tasking from CMV-22 Detachment Leads, Aviation Maintenance Officers, Detachment Maintenance Officer, or Officer in Charge (OIC).

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of V-22 aircraft maintenance experience; heavy maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD secret security clearance (current/active DoD Secret preferred).
• Ability to perform operations/functional checks and troubleshooting of pneumatic, hydraulic, and/or mechanical systems.
• Ability to work in a team environment with strong communication and information technology skills.
• Ability to work with Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) and Temporary Engineering Instructions (TEI); ability to evaluate damage using precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometer, depths, gauges) and perform required repairs.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally with short notice, including extended travel/deployment as needed.
• Must meet all required DoD medical, dental, and psychological screenings (as applicable per DODI 3020.41 and, when applicable, ).
• Must be able to work in accordance with Bell/Textron relocation and travel considerations; relocation assistance is not provided for this role.

The pay range for this position is 79,040 - 97,760 per year, dependent on candidate experience, qualifications, and market considerations.
