Essential Responsibilities
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance and certification of all PSSE equipment, Missile Tube Loading/Handling Maintenance Platforms, weapon cradles, ballast cans located in Groton, CT and Norfolk, VA, and other associated gear (e.g., TOTEMS, Torpedo Shapes, Harpoon Shapes, non‑ordnance variants, AURVS, AURES (Mk101 & Mk112), Mk60 AURS's, missiletube ballast cans, AURBb's, Mk34 shipping & stowage skids, AERO

Conduct preventive maintenance and testing of Platform Lifting Slings, Ballast Can Lifting Slings, Adaptor Hooks, Nylon Slings, TMD Lifting Harness Assemblies, Taglines, Pendent Slings, Torpedo Handling Bands and CLS Handling Bands (Norfolk) and perform corrective maintenance on Missile Tube Loading/Handling Maintenance Platforms (R‑10), including blasting, painting, replacement or repair of hardware, rails, beams, gratings, support legs, corrosion damage and replacement of aluminum bronze bushings.
Schedule and perform preventive maintenance IAW current directives for all 688, VA and Columbia Class platforms, including a minimum of four procedures annually, and maintain maintenance per technical manuals, PMS schedules, drawings and Test Loads Methods Drawings (TLMD).
Perform Operational Procedures (OP's) on AURVS's, Missile Tube Ballast Cans, AURBb's, Mk60 AURSs, TOTEMS, MK‑48 FITMENT Shapes, TOMFISH, AERO
51 Class Munition Trailers, MK‑34 Shipping and Storage Containers, MK‑30 Shipping and Storage Containers, CNU
308 Shipping and Storage Containers, Mk793 Shipping and Storage Containers, and Torpedo Mounted Dispenser (TMD's) IAW technical manuals and local instructions. Maintain certification by completing required maintenance and minor repairs, documenting all activities, and managing a database of PSSE location and maintenance status. Maintain HAZMAT lockers as per OSHA directives. Update government databases as necessary.
Provide VLS and VPT loading and maintenance support, shipping/receiving evolutions, stenciling of containers, and coordination of shipping, handling, and inventory management for AURVS/AURES, Mk101 & Mk112, AURBb's, total and non‑ordnance stocks, and TMDs and deck skids. Transport TMDs between NAVSTA Norfolk Pier3, CEP‑204, NWS Yorktown and local contractor facilities, and perform on‑load and off‑load of 688, Virginia and Columbia Class PSSE and non‑ordnance equipment to and from trailers, trucks, submarines and pier facilities.
Deliver PSSE Non‑Ordnance Technical Support on waterfront (Pier Services), verifying handling equipment certification, providing SME support for missile tube loading/handling platforms and other handling evolutions, and coordinating non‑ordnance handling operations (de‑confliction meetings, scheduling, and coordination with MARMC, CSS‑6/8 and Naval Munitions Command). Transport hull‑owned equipment within 200 miles of the waterfront as required.
Resume RequirementsA minimum of two (2) years full‑time hands‑on technical experience in the operation, maintenance, installation, test, and/or repair of PSSE incorporated in submarine PSSE Non‑Ordnance Handling systems. Experience must have been gained within the last ten (10) years.
Compensation and BenefitsHourly position, overtime eligible, compensating under the Service Contract Act (SCA). Base hourly rate $19.00 with additional health and welfare payment for each hour worked to meet SCA requirements.
