, we know quality coatings protect the vessels that keep America moving. We're looking for experienced Marine Brush & Roll Painters who take pride in producing clean, professional finishes while working safely in a fast-paced shipyard environment. If you're dependable, safety-conscious, and ready to grow with a team that values hard work and craftsmanship, we'd love to hear from you. Starting pay is $17.00/hr field assessment given to determine increased pay rate.
Candidates with Fast-Clad experience will take priority.
Responsibilities
- Apply marine coatings using brush and roller techniques on naval, commercial, and government vessels.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, wire brushing, and solvent wiping.
- Apply primers, epoxies, urethanes, and other marine coatings according to manufacturer specifications.
- Mix paints and coatings to proper ratios and maintain material consistency.
- Mask and protect surrounding equipment and surfaces before painting.
- Inspect finished work to ensure proper coverage, appearance, and coating thickness.
- Maintain clean work areas and properly store painting materials and equipment.
- Follow all OSHA, NAVSEA, and company safety procedures.
- Work in tanks, voids, confined spaces, and at heights as required.
- Perform other related duties assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of marine painting experience.
- Experience applying coatings with brushes and rollers.
- Knowledge of surface preparation techniques and coating application procedures.
- Ability to read work instructions and paint specifications.
- Familiarity with marine coatings including epoxies, zinc primers, and urethanes is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions, confined spaces, and elevated work areas.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Shipyard or Navy vessel experience
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
- Experience working to NAVSEA Standard Items
