Development Coordinator- Full-Time
- Norfolk, VA
Enjoy a rewarding and challenging position with a nonprofit organization helping educate, train, and provide employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities since 1955. We are currently seeking applicants for a full-time or part-time Development Coordinator who will s upport all aspects of development activities and external affairs. Assists with pursuing funding from a variety of sources, managing fundraising events, gathering information for grant proposals, and liaising with external groups and individuals.
Engages with donors and the Eggleston Foundation to build and sustain brand relationships. Work schedule may include events beyond normal operating hours and may include weekends, holidays, evenings, and periods of inclement weather
The following duties and responsibilities represent the essential functions of this job that an individual must be able to perform with or without a reasonable accommodation:
- Provides administrative support for the Development subdivision, including managing fundraising software and the donor cultivation cycle for the Eggleston and the Eggleston Foundation
- Under the supervision of the Director of Development, develops and maintains fundraising objectives and policies
- Generates fundraising proposals and jointly presents proposals with the Director of Development
- Assists with public fundraising drives
- Researches previous fundraising efforts by studying literature and mailings available from government funding sources, private foundations, the United Way, and other generous contributors
- Collaborates with the Grants Administrator to prepare grant applications; modifies applications to conform to grant requirements when necessary
- No travel required

EXPERIENCE:
The following qualifications represent the training, education, certifications, licensures, and/or work experience required to perform the essential duties and responsibilities successfully:
- Bachelor's degree in related field required
- At least three years of experience in grant writing experience highly preferred
- Excellent analytical abilities that can be applied in aligning the organization's objectives with available funding opportunities
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft 365and other software as appropriate
Physical demands:
Performing the duties of this job requires near visual acuity, the ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds, and gross manipulation. Additionally, the employee:
- Must be free of tuberculosis in a communicable form.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds
