Bestica is seeking a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to provide service in support of the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA.

Shifts may be required for twenty-four (24), sixteen (16), twelve (12), and eight (8) hours. Specific days, hours, and shift length will be scheduled by the designated Government representative. The specific hours will be determined by the supervisor depending on patient volume and clinical scheduling needs 6 weeks prior to services being rendered.

• Degree: Master’s degree in Nursing
• Education: Graduate from an academic program, within the nursing specialty field of study that is accredited by a regional or national nursing accrediting agency recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

  Have successfully completed at least twelve (12) contact hours of continuing NNP education within the preceding twenty-four (24) months which maintains skills and knowledge as an NNP.
• Certifications: Certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or the recognized national nursing certification organization for the specialty area of practice as appropriate (for example, National Certification Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Nurses, American Nurses Association, National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecologic and Neonatal Specialties).
• Possess and maintain current certification in BLS (Basic Life Support) from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Web based classes do not meet these standards
• Possess and maintain current certification as a NNP (Neonatal Nurse Practitioner) from the National Certification Corporation (NCC).
• Possess and maintain a NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Pediatrics) certification as recognized by the American Board of Pediatrics.
• Possess and maintain a PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
• Experience: Possess a minimum of one (1) year full‑time experience as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner within the preceding two (2) years. Possess a minimum of one (1) year broad experience as a Nurse Practitioner in Level 3 NICUs and experience in both the newborn nursery and delivery room setting within the last two (2) years.
• Licensure: Possess and maintain Current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse
