Sentara Leigh Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Coordinator for our Intermediate Care Unit (Stepdown). Demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for the assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager, leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff.
Increases staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.
This 24 bed unit is blended with 8 Step‑Down beds for patients who are too ill for general medical/surgical but do not need an intensive level of care for the ICU. Sixteen beds are for Med/Surg patients, including some cardiac.
Education- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) (Required) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) (Preferred)
- Registered Nursing License (Required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire
18 months of relevant nursing experience required.
