Registered Nurse: Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab

Sentara Health is hiring an experienced Registered Nurse for Cardiac Rehab at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA

M-F: must be available between 6:30am and 5:30pm. Overview of the posting: S. This is a full-time, Monday-Friday, day shift position. No weekends - No major holidays! Must have at least 3 years of direct patient care experience;
Cardiac, ICU or ED experience strongly preferred. BLS within 90 days of hire, ACLS within 1 year of hire

The Registered Nurse will play a critical role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to a diverse patient population. Your responsibilities will encompass all aspects of patient care, including conducting thorough assessments, designing and implementing personalized care plans, administering medications and treatments, and evaluating patient responses to interventions. You will work closely with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity throughout the treatment process.

In this role, you will educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care, empowering them to make informed decisions about their health. You will monitor and record vital signs, observe changes in patient conditions, and respond promptly with appropriate interventions. Utilizing sound clinical judgment, you will address complex health situations, consult with medical team members as needed, and document all care in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.

The RN is expected to uphold the highest standards of patient safety, adhere to evidence-based protocols, and contribute to a supportive and empathetic environment. As a patient advocate, you will work tirelessly to ensure each patient’s comfort, dignity, and well-being while fostering trust and a sense of security. Responsible for performing competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. Possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by clinical areas. Exhibits sound knowledge and understanding of routine nursing procedures and RN and LPN scope of practice.
