Overview
Sentara is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) at Sentara Norfolk General's Radiation Oncology Department in Norfolk, Virginia. The shift is first (days) or daytime M‑F 7:30‑4 or 8‑4:30. A sign‑on bonus up to $15,000 is offered to qualified candidates.
ResponsibilitiesThe RN is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. Responsibilities include assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching and health promotion, and evaluation. The RN must also maintain professional performance standards: ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence‑based practice, research, quality, resource utilization, and environmental health.
All direct‑care RNs are required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.
Education- RN degree (required)
- Virginia RN license (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire
- Prior radiation oncology / Rad Onc RN experience strongly preferred
