Position Overview

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, a Level 1 Trauma Center located in Norfolk, Virginia, is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Short Stay ICU.

Day Shift – First (Days). Unit operates Monday 11 am through Saturday 3 pm.

Norfolk, VA.

• Short Stay ICU (SSI) consists of 4 – 6 beds and partners with the Vascular and Interventional Center and Main OR to care for lower acuity ICU patients spending less than 23 hours before discharge or transfer.
• RNs will be cross‑trained to care for interventional radiology, neuro, vascular procedures, and OR patients.

• Assess and admit patients.
• Conduct rounding checks.
• Administer medications.
• Communicate with family members.
• Provide overall patient care.
