Overview

The Registered Nurse will play a critical role in delivering high‑quality, compassionate care to a diverse patient population. Responsibilities include conducting thorough assessments, designing and implementing personalized care plans, administering medications and treatments, evaluating patient responses to interventions, educating patients and families, monitoring vital signs, responding to changes in patient condition, and documenting care in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.

The RN collaborates with an interdisciplinary team, ensures continuity of care, upholds patient safety, adheres to evidence‑based protocols, and promotes a supportive and empathetic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct patient assessments.
  • Develop and implement personalized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments.
  • Evaluate patient responses to interventions.
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions and post‑discharge care.
  • Monitor and record vital signs.
  • Respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
  • Collaborate with medical team members and document all care.
  • Maintain highest standards of patient safety.
  • Promote continuous learning and adaptability to evolving healthcare practices.
Other Requirements
  • All Direct Care Registered Nurses must have Basic Life Support within 90 days of hire.
  • Require additional Life Support certifications within specified time frames:
    • Critical Care/Intermediate Care Unit – ACLS within 90 days of hire.
    • Emergency Care – ACLS & PALS within 90 days of hire.
    • Oncology Care – ONS/ONCC or Sentara approved course Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Card within 6 months of hire.
    • Women’s Care – NRP within 6 months of hire.
    • Inpatient Pediatrics – PALS within 90 days of hire.
