Travel Registered Nurse; RN - Mother​/Baby

Overview

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse to work a 14‑week traveling assignment on the Mother‑Baby unit located in Norfolk, VA. The assignment will be on a rotating shift schedule with some on‑call coverage required (two 12‑hour shifts per six‑week period). The pay rate for this position is $70.00 per hour.

• Provide nursing care for postpartum mothers and their newborns on a 30‑bed Mother‑Baby unit.
• Assess and monitor the health and wellbeing of both mother and infant during the post‑partum stay.
• Educate new mothers on infant care, feeding, cleaning, and bonding practices.
• Respond to high‑risk newborn situations and manage medication protocols such as magnesium drips.
• Participate in on‑call coverage, attending two 12‑hour shifts per six‑week cycle.

• Virginia or Compact Multi‑State Registered Nurse license in good standing.
• Minimum of two years of current Mother‑Baby hospital RN experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
• Experience caring for high‑risk newborns and managing magnesium drip protocols.
