Position:
Registered Nurse – Cardiac Cath Holding Recovery Unit (Temporary Full‑Time, 36 hours/week, no weekends or major holidays)
- Prepare and recover patients for procedures in the cath lab, EP lab, minor procedure room, and cardiac operating room.
- Remove arterial and venous sheaths from femoral, radial, and brachial sites.
- Perform nursing assessments per procedural guidelines and escalate patients who become critical or fail to achieve preoperative baseline.
- Manage vascular complications, epidural and gtt management post‑operatively.
- Work in a unit open 6am–11pm Monday‑Friday with an average daily patient volume of 40‑60.
- Maintain a safe and efficient recovery area, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and standing for long periods.
- Current RN license in Virginia or a Multi‑State Compact license in good standing.
- Minimum two years of current acute‑care hospital experience in ICU, PACU, or cardiac cath settings.
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or equivalent nursing diploma; advanced education preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Experience with cardiac holding areas, PACU PhaseII, or sedation recovery (moderate sedation and general anesthesia) preferred.
- Ability to pull sheaths from femoral, radial, and brachial sites; vascular complication management experience a plus.
