Hours:
Full Time, 36 hours per week. Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Oncology Intermediate Care Unit. Up to $20,000 sign‑on bonus available for qualified candidates and relocation assistance is offered.
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and diagnoses using the nursing process.
- Develop and implement care plans, coordinate and evaluate patient care, including teaching and health promotion.
- Monitor physical conditions of cancer patients in an inpatient 36‑bed Intermediate Care Unit.
- Prescribe medication and administer chemotherapy and other treatment modalities.
- Deliver care in modalities such as chemotherapy, hospice, radiation, stem cell transplantation/CAR‑T, radioactive iodine, and symptom management.
- Registered Nursing license (required).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred. Students completing an accredited nursing program may apply.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) / Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) certification or Sentara approved course. Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Card within 6 months of hire.
- New graduate nurses welcome; no experience required. An 11‑week Transition to Practice program and a 6‑month residency program support the transition to practice.
