Job Overview
Sentara Medical Group is seeking to hire a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team. This part‑time day shift position (24 hours weekly) with the Float Pool supports one or more regions, primarily the Peninsula sites (Williamsburg, Newport News, Hampton, Gloucester). Travel to Western Tidewater may be required. Differential pay is provided for the travel and flexibility needed for this role.
The LPN manages responsibilities of workload with accuracy, provides excellence in customer service, performs testing, medication administration, and implements nursing interventions and care plans to support a holistic approach to patient care. The LPN serves as a patient advocate in the prevention of illness or disease. The work may be performed in hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, outpatient clinics, or private homes.
Education- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- Trade School Graduate – Licensed Practical Nurse required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 90 days of hire required
- Valid LPN license in state(s) of practice required
- Triaging, verifying medical information, caring for the patient's overall health, and working closely with doctors and other team members preferred
- Experience in a hospital, home health, hospice, or our medical group preferred
