Overview
Sentara Heart Hospital located on the campus of Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac IMCU. This 24‑bed unit provides high‑acuity cardiac care to patients with arrhythmias, STEMI, heart failure, chest pain, ICDs, and permanent pacemakers. The unit is telemetry‑wired and recognized as an ACCN Silver Beacon Award Unit.
ResponsibilitiesProvide direct patient care in a fast‑paced cardiac intermediate care environment, monitor telemetry, administer cardiac medications, manage arrhythmia protocols, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team for patient assessment and care planning, and document care accurately.
Qualifications & Requirements- Associate’s Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required) or BSN/MSN (preferred).
- Virginia RN license (Virginia or Compact/Multi‑State eligible).
- Valid BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
- ACLS certification for Critical Care/IMCU within 1 year of hire.
- No prior experience required; preference for previous healthcare experience.
- New graduate nurses welcome; eligible for a 6‑month Nurse Residency program.
