Cath Holding Department/Position Overview- Our unit is open M-F 6A-11P, closed on major holidays.
- The 30-bed unit prepares and recovers patients for procedures in the Cath lab, EP lab, and Minor Procedure Room as well as the Cardiac OR for surgery.
- The average patient volume each day for this unit is approximately 40-50 patients.
- The types of procedures that we prepare and recover patients for include but is not limited to:
Cardiac Catheterization (interventional and diagnostic), Electrophysiology procedures such as cardiac ablations, cardioversions, surgery and ICDs/Pacemakers, etc.
Registered Nurse must have 1+ years of bedside nursing experience. Telemetry
-Cardiac experience preferred.
The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care – teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice / nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) are required.
Education- Associate’s Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
- Bachelor of Science Nursing – BSN or MSN (Preferred)
- Virginia RN License – Virginia or Compact/Multi-State Eligible
- All Direct Care RN's required to have BLS within 90 days of hire
- Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire
- None required
- Previous healthcare experience (preferred)
