• 14-week assignment
• Day Shift

• 16 bed unit
• Norfolk General Hospital is the only Sentara Facility that performs Kidney/Pancreas Transplants and complex vascular surgeries.
• Immediate surgical recovery of Kidney and Pancreas Transplant.
• General Surgical Patients requiring ICU.Management of patients requiring mechanical ventilation.
• Management of patients requiring CRRT and hemo-dialysis.
  
  Vascular: lower extremity revascularization, Abdominal Aortic Aneurism, Mesenteric Artery Repair, EVAR, TEVAR, Lower extremity bypass, revascularization, Carotid Endarectomy and Carotid Stent, EKOS- treatment for DVTs, Medical management of AAA’s and dissections.

• Patient Population Served:
  Adult medical and surgical patients requiring intensive nursing care.
• Average length of stay 2-3 days, complex patients may be there >30days.

• Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or diploma in the Nursing Field required

• Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• ACLS
• NIH Stroke Scale

• Must have two or more years of current acute care hospital RN experience.
