General Summary
The RN - Administrative Supervisor reports to department leadership and is responsible for coordinating effective and efficient patient flow activities and inpatient bed placement requests from various department and units.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Serves as the super-user on the Teletracking software for pre-admission applications, patient tracking, reporting, staff education and system upgrades.
- Utilizes Teletracking software to communicate with units/ departments across the health system to ensure optimum patient movement.
- Ensures safe and appropriate patient placement within the hospital, works closely with emergency management coordinator, and ancillary services to ensure optimal patient care during urgent situations.
- Obtains and analyzes data related to patient flow.
- Works closely with unit staff to help facilitate throughput of patients to optimize bed flow.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Current Virginia state license as a Registered Nurse or Registered Nurse holding a valid Compact State license.
- Bachelors of Science in Nursing required, or must be actively enrolled in a BSN program with graduation within three years of hire.
- Professional knowledge of areas of responsibility in order to assist in the planning and implementation of patient flow and bed placement activities.
- Demonstrates excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills with the ability to plan, supervise, develop, coordinate and maintain a professional work environment.
- Previous nursing administrative supervisor, operation coordinator, or education coordinator experience a plus.
- Critical thinking abilities a must.
- Previous experience with patient tracking software preferred.
- Demonstrates knowledge of integrated software applications and mobile technology preferred.
- Demonstrates the ability to identify problems and implement solutions for operational and organizational functions.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to direct subordinates and delegate tasks.
- RN certification preferred.
- Pediatric experience preferred.
- CPR Training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.
- Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.
