Locums – Norfolk, Virginia – Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM)

3 inpatient shifts per week, approximately 13 shifts/month

Shifts:

• 2 day shifts: 0700–1900
• 1 night shift: 1900–0700
• 12 hours per shift
• No call

Licenses &

Certifications:

• Active Virginia License — REQUIRED
• Current/Active Board Certification — REQUIRED
  • Copy or online verification of current board status required
• Virginia DEA — REQUIRED
  • If not currently registered in VA/NC, candidate must indicate intent to change the address of an existing DEA or obtain an additional DEA

• Collaboration with OB/GYN physicians

Patient Volume:

• Approximately 10 deliveries/day
• Approximately 11 triage patients/day

Patient Population:

• Obstetric and women's health patients
• Prenatal
• Labor & delivery
• Postpartum
• Family planning

Required Skills & Procedures:

• Vaginal delivery
• Fetal monitoring/testing
• Obstetrical and limited third-trimester ultrasound
• Laceration and episiotomy repair
• Manual delivery of placenta
• Management/delivery of multiple pregnancy
• Evaluation of labor or ruptured membranes ?34 weeks
• Fetal contraction stress testing
• IUD insertion/removal
• Incision/drainage of abscess
• Vulvar/perineal biopsy or lesion excision
• Surgical first assist for C-section and/or tubal ligation
• Microscopy/wet prep

Support:

• Collaboration with OB/GYN physicians
• Co-management of moderate- and high-risk obstetric conditions with the obstetrical team

Experience:
