Position: 6R Oncology Registered Nurse Supervisor

Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor- 6RP Oncology Intermediate Care Unit

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse Supervisor for our dedicated Oncology Intermediate Care unit, home to Hampton Roads' only Level I Trauma Center. This is an opportunity to join a high-performing emergency nursing team where clinical skill, teamwork, and purpose come together to make an immediate impact for patients and families across the region.

Location: Sentara Norfolk General Hospital - Norfolk, VA

Position Status: Full-time, 40 hours per week

Shift: Days

Holiday Rotation: Required

Education Requirements
  • BSN Required

Certification/Licensure Requirements
  • Registered Nurse license required

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire

  • NIHSS, TCRN, SCRN, TNCC, CEN, PALS, and ACLS preferred

Experience Requirements
  • 2 years RN experience Required

  • Intermediate Care experience preferred

  • One year Nursing Leadership/Supervisory experience Required

Oncology 6 RP Unit Overview

The Oncology 6 RP Unit is a 36-bed inpatient Intermediate Care Unit dedicated to caring for patients with cancer. Nurses on this unit provide compassionate, specialized care while monitoring patient conditions, administering medications, delivering chemotherapy and other treatments, and supporting patients through complex care needs. Care provided on this unit includes chemotherapy, hospice, radiation, stem cell transplant/CAR-T, radioactive iodine, and symptom management.

  • Work within one of the country's largest cancer networks
    , accredited as an Integrated Network Cancer Program by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including board-certified and fellowship-trained cancer experts, to support individualized patient care.

  • Provide care in an environment that prioritizes advanced, evidence-based technology and treatments
    , including innovative radiation therapies
    , robotic surgery
    , and HIPEC
    .
