Overview
Sentara is hiring a Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator at Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia. The role demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for the assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager, the RN Unit Coordinator leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on simplifying workflow, and contributes to the development of staff.
The position increases staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.

Requirements18 months nursing experience required. BSN required;
Master’s degree preferred (if the graduate degree is not in nursing, BSN is required). Meets any specialty-specific requirements. Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire. Professional Specialty Nursing Certification preferred.

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is a 525-bed tertiary care facility that is home to the only Level I Adult Trauma Center and burn trauma unit in Hampton Roads, and also serves as the primary teaching hospital for Eastern Virginia Medical School. The facility offers specialized services in heart and vascular, neurosciences, neurosurgery, urology, oncology, spine care, advanced imaging, behavioral health, maternity, and women’s health, including a state‑of‑the‑art neonatal intensive care unit.
