Overview
This is a part‑time position. The associate will process, package, and stock meat products according to Meat Standards, clean work areas, and provide customer service while unloading stock and reloading salvage. When assigned, duties of a seafood clerk will also be performed.

High school diploma, GED, or one to three months of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Language

Ability to add and subtract two‑digit numbers and perform operations with U.S. money and weight units. - Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense to follow detailed written or oral instructions and solve problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Completion of company training including new hire orientation, food sanitation, customer service network, safety, food safety, and product knowledge.
- Age Requirement:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Regular standing, walking, using hands and arms, talking or hearing, and tasting or smelling are required. Occasional climbing or balancing and stooping, kneeling, or crouching are expected. The associate must regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds and reach between 6–72 inches. Frequently lift and move up to 100 pounds and reach between 6–72 inches. Specific vision abilities include close vision, color, and depth perception.
WorkEnvironment
The work environment is cool (34–36 °F on average), wet, humid, and has moving mechanical parts. The associate may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and extreme cold. The noise level is usually moderate to loud.
CompensationPay Transparency:
Harris Teeter reasonably expects to pay between $14.25/hour and $18.75/hour for this role as a newly hired associate. Pay may depend on previous experience and skill sets of the applicant.
Eligible for Harris Teeter’s group benefit plans upon completion of applicable waiting periods. Eligibility is subject to the terms of the applicable plan and company policy.
