Colony Tire Corporation is seeking a full‑time Outside Commercial Salesman in Norfolk, VA. SummaryOutside Sales personnel should be results‑driven and ready to actively seek out and engage prospective clients. Outside salesmen provide outstanding customer service by selling commercial, industrial, agriculture, intermodal, OTR‑earthmover, and retread tires, as well as road hazard and recommended services, benefits, and product features. They build long‑term loyalty bonds with customers, drive sales and profitability, and perform other duties assigned by the Store Manager.
QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Minimum of 1 year experience in tire sales is a plus. A valid driver’s license is required.
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities- Provide excellent customer service and regularly contact prospective customers to demonstrate products, explain features, and solicit orders.
- Recommend products to customers based on their specific needs and interests.
- Answer customer questions regarding products, prices, availability, uses, and credit terms; solicit new accounts and work on unsold and existing accounts.
- Maintain margin and sales volume objectives.
- Work with car dealer parts and service departments, assisting dealers with warranty claims and point‑of‑sale issues.
- Plan and hold tire events.
- Collect past‑due accounts and manage expenses.
- Estimate or quote prices, credit or contract terms, warranties, and delivery dates.
- Prepare drawings, estimates, and bids that meet specific customer needs.
- Identify prospective customers using business directories, existing client leads, organizations and clubs, trade shows, and conferences.
- Arrange and direct delivery and installation of products and equipment.
- Communication – Give full attention to what others say, ask appropriate questions, and convey information effectively.
- Sales and Marketing – Understand principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services, including marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
- Customer and Personal Service – Assess customer needs, meet quality service standards, and evaluate customer satisfaction.
- Administration and Management – Apply business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources.
- Making Decisions and Solving Problems – Analyze information, evaluate results, choose the best solution, and solve problems.

High school diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum of one (1) year related experience in tire sales is preferred but not required. A two‑ or four‑year college degree is also preferred but not required.
