ACT Mission Security Coordinator
Location: Norfolk, VA (On-site at NATO HQ SACT)
Employment Type: Full-time, contractor support (contingent upon contract award & customer approval)
Security Clearance: Active NATO SECRET (or higher)
Openings: 1 opening
Target Base Salary Range: $55,000 - $80,000
Travel: International travel and on-site event support as required (often short-notice).
Role OverviewSupport HQ SACT’s Office of Security / Force Protection team by planning and coordinating mission security for official travel and high-profile events (including Diamond Events). You will collect and analyze security information, brief travelers and leaders, coordinate with external agencies, and produce actionable risk assessments and after-action products.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze ACT travel data to identify high-risk destinations and travel trends.
- Collect and analyze OSINT and other security reporting to assess threats prior to travel or events.
- Deliver security briefings and tailored mitigation guidance to travelers and leadership.
- Develop security plans for high-risk missions and events in alignment with NATO security policy.
- Conduct risk assessments, site surveys, and security audits; recommend mitigation actions.
- Coordinate security for events/missions with local authorities, law enforcement, and intelligence agencies.
- Support on-site event security operations (registration/check-in, delegate assistance centers).
- Produce after-action reports and lessons-learned products; maintain compliant security documentation.
- 5+ years of experience in security administration/risk management/industrial security (including high-profile events or international travel security).
- 3+ years planning and executing security measures for VIP events or multinational operations (risk assessments, site surveys, coordination).
- Recognized certification in risk management (e.g., PMP, CRMP) or other relevant security qualification.
- Ability to collect/analyze security data (including OSINT) and produce professional briefs and risk assessments.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools (e.g., SharePoint/Teams).
- English proficiency equivalent to STANAG 6001 SLP 3333.
- Active NATO SECRET (or higher) clearance issued by a NATO member nation (must be maintained).
- Citizen of a NATO member nation; valid NATO nation passport with no travel restrictions.
- Counter terrorism, crisis management, or counterintelligence (CI) experience.
- Experience supporting VIP protection planning and emergency response protocols.
- Experience working with multinational security stakeholders in a defense environment.
