Mission Security Coordinator Support
Location:

Compensation: $40 – $48 per hour (based on experience)

We are seeking an experienced security professional to support mission security coordination efforts in a high-visibility, multinational operational environment. This role supports senior leadership travel, major events, and international engagements by conducting risk assessments, security planning, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in security administration, risk management, event security planning, and intelligence analysis, with the ability to brief senior leadership and collaborate with local authorities and partner organizations.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze travel and operational data to identify high-risk destinations and potential security concerns
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for international travel and major events
- Develop and implement security plans in accordance with organizational and multinational policies
- Perform site security surveys and vulnerability assessments for planned events and missions
- Coordinate with local law enforcement, intelligence agencies, and security partners to ensure integrated security posture
- Review attendee information and assess potential counterintelligence or security risks
- Prepare comprehensive security briefings and documentation for senior leadership approval
- Provide on-site security oversight during major events, including support at delegate assistance and registration points
- Prepare after-action reports and lessons learned documentation
- Ensure compliance with documentation standards and proper recording of all security-related activities
This position supports a multinational operational mission in Norfolk, VA and may require on-site presence during events and mission execution. Professional interaction with senior leadership and external agencies is required.
Requirements- Active U.S. DoD Secret clearance (or higher)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in security administration, risk management, criminology, public administration, industrial security administration, or related discipline
- Minimum 3 years of experience planning and managing security for major events involving senior leadership, VIPs, or multinational operations
- Recognized certification in Risk Management (e.g., PMP, CRMP, or equivalent) or other relevant security-related certification
- Demonstrated experience conducting risk assessments, site surveys, and security audits
- Proven ability to collect and analyze security information from open sources (OSINT) and other classified/unclassified sources
- Experience preparing and delivering detailed security briefings and written risk reports
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to coordinate across senior leadership, law enforcement, intelligence agencies, and partner organizations
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and collaborative tools such as SharePoint and Teams
- High proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking)
Hourly rate: $40 – $48 per hour, dependent upon experience and qualifications.
This is a 1099 independent contractor position. No benefits are provided. Contractors are responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and related obligations.
