Job DescriptionAs a Security Officer Entry Point Attendant in Norfolk, VA
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. You will work as a Part-Time Security Officer and have flexibility to build a schedule that works for you. You will monitor access points, verify credentials, and support security-related procedures for students, staff, and visitors. In this Access Control role, you will remain visible, provide exceptional customer service and communication, and help create a welcoming environment.

Pay Rate: $16.50 / Hour
Job Schedule: Day Time – Monday 03:00 PM – 11:00 PM;
Saturday 07:00 AM – 03:00 PM;
Sunday 07:00 AM – 03:00 PM
- Provide customer service by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at an educational location.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and/or credentials, and help to control authorized access for students, staff, visitors, and vendors.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report security-related concerns according to site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, common areas, and perimeter locations, with working environments and conditions varying by site.
- Document daily activities, visitor interactions, and unusual events, and communicate relevant updates to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Applicants with criminal histories may be considered in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
