Job Summary: The Unarmed and Armed Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, and clients by patrolling and monitoring premises. The guard will enforce safety protocols and report any suspicious activity or incidents. Pay Rates $18 - $22
Essential Functions:
- Access Control:
- Monitor and control entry and exit points for authorized personnel.
- Verify identification and credentials as required.
- Ensure that unauthorized individuals do not gain access to restricted areas.
- Patrolling:
- Conduct regular patrols of assigned premises to identify potential security breaches, hazards, or disturbances.
- Monitor and report suspicious activities, irregularities, and safety hazards.
- Operate CCTV and other surveillance systems to monitor the premises.
- Identify and report any unusual activity or security breaches.
- Respond promptly to alarms, emergency situations, and security-related incidents.
- Contact law enforcement or emergency services if necessary.
- Complete detailed reports on any security incidents or violations.
- Customer Service:
- Assist employees, visitors, and clients by providing information and directions.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
- Security Procedures:
- Enforce safety and security procedures, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Conduct regular checks of doors, windows, and equipment to ensure all are secure.
- Reporting:
- Complete and submit incident reports, daily activity logs, and security assessments.
- Communicate effectively with the security team and supervisors.
- Emergency Situations:
- Assist in emergency evacuations and provide direction during emergency scenarios.
- Administer basic first aid if necessary.
Qualifications:
- Must have or be eligible to obtain a valid Virginia DCJS unarmed and armed security officer license.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
- Basic knowledge of security systems and surveillance equipment is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to work in various environments such as cold weather, rain, or heat.
Work Schedule: Shifts may vary based on client needs and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
