This is an unarmed position in security. The selected candidate will be trained to have complete knowledge of the property where he/she is assigned, including facilities, post orders, emergency contact lists, emergency procedures, special instructions, and all post duties.
This is an overnight position in an office building in downtown Norfolk. The scheduled times are 11pm to 7am Monday-Friday.
The selected candidate may:
- Assure proper use and maintenance of all equipment used at the site by assigned officers (keys/key cards, cell phones, radios, wands, etc.).
- Assist with the staffing of all posts to ensure complete coverage.
- Complete reports and sign-in sheets to ensure clarity, completeness, accuracy, and legibility.
- Ensure all entries are complete, accurate, and legible.
- Review post orders on a regular basis.
- Report any complaints of discrimination, sexual harassment, or unfair labor practices to the Supervisor immediately.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
The candidate must:
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Have a high school diploma or GED.
- Have scheduling flexibility.
- Be able to walk and sit for extended periods of time when required.
- Possess exceptional customer service skills.
- Be able to multitask.
- Be proficient with Microsoft Office products and be able to operate and maintain site-specific security programs.
