The purpose of this position is to provide Alarm Monitoring and Visitor Control services to the National Defense University (NDU).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Monitor and execute site security checks on critical assets, restricted areas, communications facilities, and the rear parking lot.
- Conduct security checks of areas identified as high value/mission critical/restricted areas at a minimum every four (4) hours to verify areas are properly secured.
- Report any suspicious activity or issues to the base police or the appropriate staff.
- Monitor Lenel Security system equipment for proper operation.
- Notify Government personnel of any irregularities noted in the Lenel security system.
- Inventory and Monitor Keys and badges.
- Provide information and assistance to employees, visitors, and guests.
- Control, issue, and maintain an electronic record of visits.
- Verify all personnel entering the facilities by ensuring all personnel present a Badge or identification (i.e., Common Access Card (CAC)). Cross reference it with the Lenel Security.
- Issue a temporary visitor’s badge as required.
- Must have Closed Circuit TV (CCTV) experience.
- High School Diploma Required.
- 2-3 years of security experience.
- Must have Closed Circuit TV (CCTV) experience.
- Must be proficient with all MS Office Suites.
- Must be proficient with the Lenel System.
- Must have an active Secret Clearance.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, holidays, and weekends 7 days per week as needed. In most cases, there will be scheduled workdays.
- 3+ years of experience.
- Prolonged walking is required in order to complete security checks.
- Indoors except during rounds.
