Job Description As a Security Officer Access Control Specialist in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Aero/Defense, and more. Join Allied Universal at a dynamic aero and defense location as an Access Control Officer, helping manage entry points, verify credentials, and monitor assigned areas. You will maintain a visible, professional presence, conduct routine patrols, and help to deter incidents while delivering outstanding customer service and communication.

Job Schedule:

Day Time Mon 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM Tue 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM Fri 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM Sat 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM Sun 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM What You'll Do:
* Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a defense-related location.
* Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and/or credentials, and document visitor activity in support of authorized access procedures.
* Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or unusual situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate relevant details to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
* Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to help identify security-related concerns, access issues, and/or policy violations.
* Support security-related operations by maintaining logs, completing required reports, and following protocols for restricted areas, deliveries, and/or escorted access.

Minimum Requirements:

* A guard card/license is preferred.
* Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
* Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
* As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
* Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
* As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
* Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
